Geography

At St John's we aim to provide children with a good understanding of the world we live in. Our geography curriculum focuses on developing children's locational knowledge; beginning with our local area and the United Kingdom, before extending outwards to include Europe and the rest of the world.

We follow the geography national curriculum and have adapted some of our topics to reflect current world issues such as climate change and pollution. A copy of the national curriculum for geography can be found below.

Map work

Developing children's map work skills is a very important part of geography at St John's. The children are able to take part in a range of creative and exciting activities designing to develop their map work skills. This includes making their own maps and using maps for different purposes.
